Tanya Forster
Tanya Forster, Psychologist and visionary Founder of Macquarie Health Collective and the Rural Health Initiative, is revolutionising healthcare in Regional NSW. With a compassionate heart and an innovative mind, Tanya has established a progressive and integrative practice that stands as a beacon of support to families navigating the complexities of health and wellness in the bush.
A proud Central West local and farmer’s wife, Tanya leads a dedicated team comprising General Practitioners, Medical Specialists, and Allied Health Providers. Her leadership is characterised by a commitment to collaborative care and a deep understanding of the unique challenges faced by rural communities.
The inception of Macquarie Health Collective was born from Tanya’s unwavering belief that excellence in healthcare should be a right, not a privilege. Her mission is clear: to transform the landscape of rural healthcare, and ensure that geography is no barrier to quality healthcare solutions.
Having successfully built her private practice, Tanya felt there were more ways she could support vulnerable communities across regional Australia, and so the Rural Health Initiative was born. The Rural Health Initiative aims to ensure that regional communities outside of metropolitan cities and the major regional hubs still have access to the physical and mental healthcare services they require.
In addition to her clinical work, Tanya teaches medical students at the University of Sydney School of Rural Health. She also sits on the board of Seaktor, a not-for-profit organisation that aims to improve death literacy across Australia.
Tanya believes that every Australian deserves to access world-class Australian healthcare, no matter what postcode they choose to call home.
